FAQs

Listed here are some of the questions that I get asked when people enquire about my services, this is not an exhaustive list and although it is regularly update if your question isn't answered here please send me an email.

What are the legal requirements for a wedding?
One of the current restrictions in the UK is that for a wedding to be legally recognised a venue must be registered and a registrar has to be present, both of which are the exclusive domain of local authorities. However, this does not necessarily need to be an issue, I have conducted weddings in Marquees in a garden as well as in unregistered country houses. To facilitate this one can combe a small legal ceremony with a second ceremony, personalised to your own specifications and wishes, at the venue you have booked. Both can be conducted on the same day or on separate days but must be conducted within 28 days of each other.

What Areas Do you cover?
I you want me as your celebrant, then I want to help you celebrate. I am willing to travel to most areas of the UK to carry out a celebration. However, I charge expenses for distances of over 25 miles, and for car journeys over 3 hours we would have to discuss additional costs.

Can you help with producing a printed order of service?
Yes, I produce an order of service as far as it relates to the ceremony itself which can be made available in the format of your choice.

Are you able to carry out an internment in the case of a burial?

Although burials are not that common these days, I do have experience of this.

Can you provide any faith-based input to our service?
As a practicing Christian I can do this if requested, I can also provide a blessing in the case of weddings although you should check with your registrar and your venue as sometimes there is a restriction concerning this.
